Vantaggi

Genuinely good product that solves a real problem. The people are smart, capable and likable

Svantaggi

Private Equity (Vista) owned, with the operating model that comes with it Workload consistently exceeds the staffing in place to handle it Critical processes often rest on a single person Prioritization is unclear; everything is always urgent at once Goals are set extremely high and framed as safe to miss, but in practice missing one is treated as failure Project deadlines are set by commitments made above, then enforced regardless of capacity or feasibility Crunch is constant, moving from one project to the next with no capacity for recovery Workloads require long days on top of working nights, weekends, holidays and even while on “PTO” Wins go largely unacknowledged while mistakes are surfaced publicly Compensation and benefits run below market Turnover is frequent, with responsibilities reshuffled onto whoever remains The issues are structural, not personality-driven, so they persist regardless of who’s in the seat

Vantaggi

Great culture. Collaborative environment. Transparent leadership. Growth opportunities.

Svantaggi

Hard to think of any. Nowhere is perfect but nothing worth writing as a con that someone should worry about.

Vantaggi

Nice office, catered lunch on Tuesdays, good product

Svantaggi

The culture has changed drastically as the company gets closer to a sale. There’s a noticeable disconnect between executives and employees as leadership operates in its own bubble and doesn’t seem concerned with paying people fairly. As you’ll see in other reviews, the salaries are laughably below market (especially for Austin) and that feedback is not new. Leadership is aware, but with a potential sale on the horizon, it feels like the priority is maximizing profit rather than investing in employees. Promotions without salary increases happen here, which is frustrating. A title change with more responsibility and no additional compensation isn’t actually a promotion. Growth in general is very slow and not a real priority. The Learning & Development team does what they can, but “growth” here mostly looks like leadership trainings and courses that don’t lead to new opportunities or better pay. It just ends up being more work with no tangible benefits. Micromanagement exists at nearly every level, and there’s a heavy focus on optics. Being in the office and “seen” by execs often seem to matter more than the actual quality or impact of your work. Some managers tend to focus on things that don’t really move the needle. The lack of diversity in the Austin office is noticeable, and some of the DEI efforts come across as performative. There have been situations where concerns, specifically from minority employees, don’t feel like they’re taken seriously, which adds to the disconnect. Overall, it’s a fine place to start your career, but not somewhere you’ll grow or be paid competitively.
