Organization was the voice of the corporate community in its heyday (1950s - 80s) but is increasingly marginalized in public discourse and seen as just serving the narrow interests of its membership. Most promotions over the past 5 - 6 years seem to be based on personal favoritism and not demonstrated achievement. Opportunities for advancement have been very limited in recent years -- staff reduced 50% since 2004.
