Allstate is a respected brand and something good to have on your resume. There is a stability to working in insurance, but that can work against you as well. Except during busy season, the hours are reasonable. They do offer education assistance and support for professional designations.

Where to begin? The food in the cafeteria is like airline food. You will find some of the realities of working in a corporate environment while working at Allstate--tough to move around the company, merit increases small and very subjective, hiring freezes even though the company made a billion dollars in the year prior. Working in a regulated industry can mean a lack of innovation.
