Vantaggi
- Fully remote. Which is nice because if it was in-office you'd probably find the CEO, VPs, and managers all singing Strangers in Paradise.
Svantaggi
- High degree of nepotism. Unless you can get in, or are brought in, by someone high up you don't stand a chance. - Overinflated titles. - Many in the company, including the VPs, don't know what an ETF is yet alone the difference between a basis point and a percentage point. - CEO had a KPI of 'empathy' one month. This is coming from someone with zero emotional intelligence. Just listen to Alpaca's podcast. Specifically episode 14 at the 19:45 minute mark to see how much EQ the CEO has. - KPIs change monthly. One month we're told what our KPIs are. The next month during the all-hands call we're told 'we're doing this again because tried to measure too many KPIs'. - No competitive advantage and they're going up against major players who have been in the industry for decades. - Still unable to make a profit and the company's evaluation is dropping. - They love internal meetings. On Fridays I had three hours on internal meetings and one manager even complained when one of our meetings only lasted 15 minutes and not 30 because we simply didn't need the entire 30 minutes.
