Do not work for this company unless you are desperate and you like to brown nose, which actually won’t get you anywhere in the long run, and if you also enjoy watching your coworkers being laid off left and right at a steady pace. This will be you soon. The CEO rules ruthlessly. He is feared, despised and not respected. Does this remind you of a dictatorship? It should! Don’t ever speak your mind because it will cost you very quickly. When the CEO came onboard, the very best he could do is “regurgitate” the so called "Guiding Principles" of Georgia Pacific, from where he came. He could not come up with his own. Why he is even employed here is beyond belief. Here comes the good part: During regular meetings, employees are forced to chant these Guiding Principles at every turn like little school children and to apply them to the most mundane subjects like Health Insurance (which by the way is horrific and one of worst in the industry). Here is what the "Guiding Principles" REALLY mean: "Act with Integrity and Compliance" HR department is told to write positive fake reviews on the Glassdoor - that's Integrity and Ethics for you. Do only what the CEO tells you, otherwise you are out of Compliance. "Drive Value Creation" The only Value created at this place is the reduced heating bills in winter as result of all the “hot air coming out of the talking heads of some of the senior managers” "Be Disciplined Entrepreneurs" What kind of disciplined entrepreneur spends a ton of money to move to a fancy new office, when the old one was sufficient? The one that does not spend his own money! Totally wasteful. "Focus on the Customer" If Consolidated focused on the Customer, the Customers would not be dropping them like hot potatoes, as soon as they could, after their throats were jammed with Unfair Trade Terms. "Act with Humility" Fake humility will help you advance in the company. "Treat others with Dignity and Respect" Loyal employees, especially senior sales folks, are discarded like garbage. "Seek Fulfillment at Work" This should be written on a sign that hangs around your neck.
