Vantaggi

Aside from a dozen or so genuinely kind people, there is literally nothing good about this toxic company.

Svantaggi

If you’re reading these reviews, you may notice some common themes throughout, such as the lies from executives/upper management, the total lack of work/life balance, and the daily pressure to perform to an unrealistic and unattainable standard, but this only scratches the surface. You will be gossiped about by EVERYONE at EVERY level of HQ, publicly humiliated in company meetings, have your ideas stolen by your superiors, and used until there’s nothing left all under the guise of being a “family.” HQ staff are treated as gods among men, while showroom employees are abused and gaslit. Example: for Christmas, all HQ employees were gifted Apple watches. The showroom employees who did ALL of the real work were given $5 Starbucks gift cards. That really makes one feel appreciated and valued, right? This boys’ club of a company has been flawed by massive egos and poor decision-making for such a long time, that it is past the point of redemption; it will not be able to sustain. If you accept a position here, proceed with extreme caution, question everything you’re told, and trust absolutely no one who is left at HQ.

Vantaggi

The brand has a good concept and the product quality is solid. The frontline staff are generally great people who are trying their best despite the circumstances.

Svantaggi

The primary issue at Alton Lane is a leadership team that is stuck in the past and completely disconnected from the daily realities of the business. Antiquated Leadership: The executive mindset is outdated. They rely on old strategies that don't work in the current market, yet they are unwilling to listen to feedback from the people actually doing the work. Echo Chamber Culture: Leadership doesn't want innovators; they want "yes people." If you provide honest feedback or suggest improvements, you are viewed as "not a team player." This has created a culture where no one speaks the truth to power, and management remains in the dark. Unrealistic Expectations: Goals and KPIs are set with zero basis in reality. Leadership has no clue what is actually happening on, leading to impossible demands that inevitably result in burnout and high turnover. No Investment in Staff: Between the lack of a 401k match and the absence of bonuses, it’s clear they view employees as a cost to be minimized rather than an asset to be developed.
