The reality is more like leaving you to figure it out on the job. - Travel opportunities not really a perk anymore with constant travel budget cuts. - HR preaches of good career progression and flexible job mobility. But in reality, there are rarely any openings in Singapore. If a position in Singapore is vacated, you will see that headcount backfilled at a lower cost location such as Bangalore instead. No opportunities to move unless you don’t mind moving countries without a relocation package and getting a significant pay cut as most hiring managers avoid offering relocation packages. - More bureaucracy and inefficient admin tasks. - Annual salary reviews are not tied to performance and highly not transparent. You could be a high achiever, but just get a miserable 1+% hike that doesn’t catch up with inflation.
