Amcor is a typical big business. They do not care about their employees. If all you care about is money then it is a fine place to work. If you value anything else then I recommend looking elsewhere. Management within each individual plant only cares about what their superiors think and will do what they need to do to make themselves look good. It's understandable, but if you are a lower level employee it can be frustrating. They preach teamwork and integrity in their core values but it is difficult to accept when everyone is clearly out for themselves. If you do work here I recommend the following: 1) If you have an opinion, keep it to yourself. Your bosses will say they are interested and they may be, but nothing will come of it. 2) Do not get discouraged if you cannot move up the ladder quickly. Amcor will promote based solely on experience. Even if the experience isn't necessarily good. 3) In order to keep your job just do enough not to be noticed. I was told this by the person training me my first day on the job and it is true. There are pay grades for each position. So, if you work under the same title for long enough you will max out at the pay grade. Since promotions are based almost solely on experience, once you have worked long enough apply for a promotion, chances are you will get it. Just so I do not seem biased, I did not get fired. I left this company voluntarily after 3.5 years.
