American Forests is the oldest conservation organization in the US -- and one of the most potent. Focused on forestry, climate and equity it has attracted top professionals in the last four years. Collaborative workplace, sound management, extensive remote opportunities, national reputation. No wonder their team as grown from about 15 to roughly 80 over the last few years.

Remote work offers few opportunities for face-to-face collaboration, but the organization continues to thrive.

Amazing mission and dedicated lower- to mid- level staff

Leadership was bad when I left and I hear it’s just getting worse. It says a lot that the entire communications team has either left or been fired over the last 2 years. They’ve fired amazing staff since the new president joined that were the face of the work, working with partners on the ground and getting things done while leadership conference hopped and schmoozed with elected officials and major donors, it’s very disappointing
