Svantaggi
I have taken a lot of time to think after quitting earlier this year about my treatment at AFP, the demands of the job, and whether or not I approve of my team's and the organization's leadership... suffice it to say I approve of neither. The company works you to the bone for little pay and little opportunity for raises, bonuses, or other financial incentives. If leadership decides they dislike you, they create opportunities for discrimination and harassment. I have been witness to and victim of both during my almost two-year tenure at AFP. AFP's drinking/party culture is INSANE and extremely unprofessional. Low-level leadership is driven not by building relationships or long-term respect within the community -- only by metrics. They also push an unhealthy work/life balance. I had multiple instances in my tenure at AFP wherein I worked 60+ hour weeks, worked over scheduled PTO, and worked on weekends -- and was still being told I wasn't doing enough. I also took large issue with the fact that we endorsed against Trump in 2023 only to turn around and kowtow to him come his presidency in 2025. A principles-based organization, like AFP claims to be, would stick to its values as opposed to doing whatever is politically expedient for them. Though the company preaches "challenge culture," challenges are seen as pushback and you are labeled a hostile employee for asking about changes instead of just doing what they ask you to (even when their political affiliations and schemes make 0 sense with what you were hired to do).
