compared with other companies I have worked at, Ceridian UK has an amazing set of qualities. Engagement is good and team spirit is very high. The average length of service is very high - a great indicator that people love working here. Net Promoter Score, a measure used to gauge customer satisfaction has steadily increased year on year and is reaching world class levels. Amazing for the payroll/technology sector that is often only judged when things go wrong!

Ceridian operate in a very competitive market sector. Price pressure is intense, there always seems to be a competitor's prepared to 'buy' business and then provide sub-standard quality of service or change control the customer to recoup their losses. This environment can result in a vicious spiral of price cutting, which is bad for the industry and bad for customers. It also makes it very hard to grow a profitable business. The consequence is that Ceridian have had some years where growth or profit has been below its plans, while still doing the right things. Obviously this harms the positive culture and great working environment that exists here. The trick is to be so radically different and better than the competitors these issues diminish, something I feel is very close.

Many of the product offerings feel dated compared to competitors, making it difficult for teams to position solutions effectively in the market. Significant investment in product innovation and modernization is needed to remain competitive. The company also appears to be facing strategic challenges. Employees are frequently asked to do more with less, while the long-term vision and execution plan can feel unclear. There is a noticeable desire across the organization for stronger leadership alignment, a more defined growth strategy, and clearer communication around the path forward.
