There were definitely a few perks to the job, including retreats to the owners' houseboat and country club. PTO policies were fair, and the healthcare benefits were more than acceptable for a small company. Some of the smaller things, like ready availability of office supplies and refreshments for employees, can be appreciated.

Training and mentorship are practically nonexistent in the R&D side of the house. When the most junior developers know more about the frameworks and technologies than the head of the department, it is a bad sign. I witnessed several occasions where multiple devs were openly ridiculed for presenting alternative ideas or showing initiative in a task. That sort of hostility does nothing more than build mistrust and stunt company growth. When concerns were presented to upper management, the response fell along the lines of "if you don't like it, don't work here." Appalling. As a few reviewers before me have stated, I never met an employee who genuinely expressed the glowing reviews given here. It was well-known within the company that some of the higher-level management routinely posts fake reviews on this site, just to try to bury the opinions of their disgruntled former staff.
