Vantaggi
Literally only the co-workers. (Some of them) The reason I took this job was because I was at a major low point in my life and some of the people I met (A couple I still keep in touch with) were really cool and helped me get in to a more positive mindset when I was down and out.
Svantaggi
Although I interviewed and handed them a resume with 10 years of experience in logistics and customer service including international, they still attempted to divert my attention away from the fact that it was a door to door sales position. It was obvious from the jump but I took the job anyway because I needed literally anything at the time The job isn't a pyramid scheme exactly. I would call it more multi-level marketing. Either way the only person in that office making real money is the owner of the branch fact. This is why the turnover rate is sky high. The hours are : Get to the office by 1030am for some reason wear a suit even though you will soon be changing in to clothes with the Verizon logo so you can walk around for 6 hours. You are technically allowed to leave for home as soon as you get back from "the field" hopefully by 9pm but if you do leave straight away be prepared for a text from the boss giving you a hard time for not being a team player. Also Saturdays are optional but whoever doesnt come in gets branded as lazy and not a team player. Saturdays arent a half day either its 10am to 5pm (oh and you are requested to go out to the field on Sundays too if your numbers arent good enough. This equals zero life Basically the only people that take these jobs are young innocents with zero work or life experience that get tricked during the interview process or intoxicated by the fact that the branch manager is as young as them and constantly states I own my own business ! .....a door to door sales business While I am a bro myself at times. The bro culture at this place is beyond anything I have seen. It is not woman friendly and while I was there I may have seen 1 or 2 pass through the doors and they usually lasted a couple weeks before quitting (typically a non call no show because who would even want the reference) Lastly - this is a commission job. So if you dont get at least 6 or 7 people a week to switch their cable from Comcast to Verizon by knocking at their door and bothering them during dinner then you are getting minimum wage my friend. (Thats if he even pays you) Not only is the manager of this branch uninterested but he likes to pretend he has a bad memory. Especially when it comes to money. I was in my 30s at the time I worked there which practically made me a senior citizen (which that in itself is something I was expecting) I didnt even mind working for a 23 year old boss. I worked with other 23 year olds at Apollo and we got along great. I just couldnt make it work with this guy. PS : Be prepared for literally no life. Wednesdays nights once everyone gets back to the office (which usually isnt until 9pm) is individual team night. Thursdays is office night. Good luck getting home before 11pm on either night. Both are mandatory
