Culture can feel cliqueish and political despite claims of having “no politics” and being "flat". Some managers tend to micromanage heavily without room for flexibility and treat the team like a military camp; favouritism can be quite apparent, and gossip behind colleagues’ backs is common, especially during leave periods or team conflicts.
