I was told I would have received proper training. On the first day, I received the laptop, and then I was sent home "If you need assistance, feel free to call me", and I was already in charge of processing withdrawals

Leadership and management are the most significant issues facing the company today.
Six or more years ago, Aristocrat was widely regarded as a gold standard for people-first culture within the slot gaming industry. Leadership emphasized employee well-being and demonstrated strong support during the pandemic. That culture has materially eroded.
Many of the long-tenured leaders who built that environment are gone. In their place are several externally hired managers who appear to have been selected primarily for industry tenure rather than proven leadership capability. The result in some teams is a culture of micromanagement, reactive decision-making, and constant scrutiny. Instead of coaching and empowerment, employees often experience “gotcha” oversight and unnecessary pressure.
Equally concerning is the lack of effective escalation pathways. HR often defers conflict resolution back to the same management layers that may be contributing to the issue, creating tension rather than resolution. When psychological safety erodes, engagement, innovation, and retention follow.
The organization’s reputation as a people-first employer has been severely weakened, and competitors are benefiting from the departure of experienced talent.
