Leadership is a major challenge at this company. In my experience, the CEO issues top-down orders and dismisses input from the team, which makes for a frustrating environment. When things don’t go as planned, he has visible anger or emotional outbursts in front of everyone. This has created a very tense environment in the office. The company has also gone through multiple pivots, which added instability.
Employee turnover is high. Not many employees left with long tenure. The team has barely grown because everyone leaves.
The office setup isn’t professional. Sound carries easily, so it’s possible to overhear bathroom use from the work area. The CEO also brings his two dogs into the office, and they bark constantly throughout the day, often disrupting meetings.
CEO is vegan and company policy requires all regularly expensed team lunches to be vegan, which feels restrictive.
