First of all I want to make clear that I am not some laid off, fired or disgruntled employee that would find a motive to come in here and post a negative review... I in fact I hardly give any reviews "Good" or "Bad”. I left Asurion on my own terms after finding a better opportunity and today I took some time out of my current busy schedule to write this review in the hopes that someone may find this useful before committing its future with this firm. To be on the safe side Asurion is huge company over 5k employee and I didn't personally get to work with all the departments so that I can’t speak of them. My review is for the Sterling - VA location where the company (N.E.W) was bought out by Asurion and converted from top 10 places to work in Washington DC to probably one of the worst places to work in DC. If you ever want to witness a model of how to take a perfectly running company in to a falling asteroid from space then look no further. I don’t want to go in much details as this will fill up a page but I will try to sum up the failures from Top Management to the Bottom. Execs: Are highly number driven. Don’t care for the employees or the company’s reputation they just want to see Profit year after year after year. You will not see them in offices throughout the year nor do they make any attempt to reach out to their employees. Don’t be surprised if you never even catch a glimpse of these Hollywood celebrities because they are rarely seen in public. Directors: In the same boat. Totally disengaged. Some are offsite running their department from the Bahamas others from exotic corners of the world…. Directors give all the power to their managers to make day to day decision. You can just count on them to attend a remote weekly staff meeting with their managers to get a breast of the situation but don’t count on any support or help from them. If you ever feel the need that you want to by-pass your manager and ever talk to one of these directors about any concern that you may have then you are in Good Luck. HR : Literally one man show for over 300 people… flaunts her teeth all day to please the exes and don’t care about its resources / employees. HR promotes best fair practices, growth opportunities to their internal employees they even give you a career growth book that is as big as a Bible …but throw that away the day you get it because there is nothing that you will get out of it. Your career path is strictly driven by how much your manager likes you not by what you are worth. Manager: This is perhaps the most important role in Asurion as your entire future (as an employee) depends on who you report to. There was a time when you would find yourself reporting under a qualified, experienced manager that actually understood the work the employees were putting in- so much so they respected and appreciated your hard work and gave you your well-deserved promotion… However with the 20 million reorg year after year this has changed drastically. 80% of the Managers have no clue or an insight to what their direct reports are actually working on. They not only lack managerial skills but are not even technically capable to lead. You will find it very tough year after year to sell yourself to your manager because He/ She will never appreciate your hard work simply because they are inept to recognize your contributions and capabilities. Don’t be surprised that you would suddenly find yourself sitting on years of experience and reporting to a new Hire with absolutely zero industry experience. There is no criteria for Hiring employees you just have to be the right fit for them and them only . Last but not least there is a hidden discrimination against color and race that you will find while working in this company… All you got to do is just walk around and look for management level positions and see the non-justified promotions and hiring practices going on past few years and you will start getting to see a clear picture. My take is that if you want to learn and take a small Gig in this company then I would say go for it. Anything beyond that I would highly reconsider.

Vantaggi

The job does pay well and does give you commission and mileage back. It’s 22.05 an hour and .77 cents per mile ( you will drive a lot and your mileage check will probably be the same as your weekly check )

Svantaggi

The job is hyper focused on pushing people to sell VHDP or HTP (VHDP Verizon Home Device Protection ), ( Home Tech Protection ). The job doesn’t really care for the financial situation of a client and will say “ well you could have told them even though they are on a fixed income, they can still get the plan and talk to their ISP about financial hardship “ the staffing is sometimes very scarce and is also very lack of consideration for driving far off with no help if you get stuck. If you happen to have a vehicle issue ( which you will ) you have 7 days to get it back up in running before you get either written up or let go. I did enjoy working for this company, but it was mentally taxing and always was about getting every dollar out the customer even though they already paid for the visit for you to come out, and the phone replacement which they have to pay for monthly. Once you have worked for the company for atleast 90 days you will get a tablet and they will make you start doing Verizon consultation about the customers WiFi and try to sell them these 90 dollar WiFi just so they can make the most money possible. It’s all just give me money even though you already gave me money
