working 100% async with managers and teammates all over the world in a non-tech role is difficult. The team I was on was very afraid to try new things and rock the boat and my leader didn't understand or support what I wanted to do. The culture is very unclear as new execs and employees push "productivity and efficiency" but the employees act like it's still a start up with a chip on it's shoulder. The performance management system claims to not stack rank people on teams but that's exactly what it does, they just call it something different.
