If you are in a state where PTO can be carried over, you will be forced to zero out your vacation or they will schedule it for you. Travel expenses comes out of your pocket first even tho you used your company Amex and takes a long time to get reimbursed so you end up paying out of pocket to not be late on the bill that impacts your credit rating. Also negotiate your salary as high as you can because raises are far and very few.
