a few elderly clients who are sweet

at the moose lake facility, if you are a nurse or cna who is sick or needs a day off they will not find anyone to work for you because it is not in their "contract" to have an agency come in to relieve you. they depend on a pool of "on call" people who never answer their phone to come in because pay is only 11.33-12.89-TOPS! awful pay for the level of workhorse they need for heavy, hard to please, picky, rude and very needy residents. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy..

We are currently looking into the concerns that you have raised. It is not our desire for employees to feel over-worked. That is the opposite of what we want to do! Recent legislative changes are now allowing us to increase wages for employees in our skilled nursing centers. We will continue to let legislators know that caregivers deserve more in assisted living and skilled nursing as well. Some residents know we are understaffed and are happy we show up even if we are late. They understand the hard work we do and are shocked for the amount of rent they pay that aides are not happy for the low wages.

Over-worked, back breaking, and low pay. Some residents are skilled nursing in the care suites, but upper management would rather have rooms filled and break the aides backs then more residents to the appropriate location. This in turn makes residents demanding (knowing only 2 aides work floors) and in turn aides are fired making the floors understaffed and unsafe. Saying aides should seek further education is insulting. Many aides have families to support, so going to school full time and working isn't easy to do. Basically, as long as augustana looks good on camera everything is fine..
