Some residents know we are understaffed and are happy we show up even if we are late. They understand the hard work we do and are shocked for the amount of rent they pay that aides are not happy for the low wages.

Over-worked, back breaking, and low pay. Some residents are skilled nursing in the care suites, but upper management would rather have rooms filled and break the aides backs then more residents to the appropriate location. This in turn makes residents demanding (knowing only 2 aides work floors) and in turn aides are fired making the floors understaffed and unsafe. Saying aides should seek further education is insulting. Many aides have families to support, so going to school full time and working isn't easy to do. Basically, as long as augustana looks good on camera everything is fine..
