Vantaggi
I genuinely enjoy helping people. The clientele is great. If you staff your store properly you can work with good people.
Svantaggi
How much time do you have? I could write a book about how bad it is to work for Autozone. - Abusive: as a salary employee you are payed to work 50 hours a week, but will work far more than that with no additional compensation. I worked 2 weeks straight with out a day off my boss said "If your store is under staffed and you are working more than you want to, that's a you problem." I solved the problem by leaving the job. - barriers to hiring - low wage, and required 8 hour class before you can begin working in a store - can't keep employees; the expectation far exceeds the compensation. Wages are low and you are expected to perform far more than is reasonable. - free services; customer needs a new battery when is -10 f outside employees are required to install them. In a parking lot. with no protection from the weather. for very low wages. - High pressure to perform; I understand that a company wants its employees to perform, but the pushiness of the middle management is extremely off-putting, - turnover rate is insane; when a regional boss is proud that their regions turnover rate is only 84% you know you have a problem. - management do not care about the employees; There is an attitude with field management and above that all employees are simply numbers and easily replaceable. That creates a very unfriendly environment to work in. - Zero interest in work/life balance. They will overwork you with no remorse and if you complain they view you as a problem employee. - Very culty; at the beginning of any meeting you are required to stand and perform their cheer and pledge. You are required to wear a pin on your collar that says "live the pledge". On a conference call a member of upper mgmt said that if you want to move up in this company you will have to make sacrifices in your personal life. If you aren't willing to spurn your family for the company you will go nowhere.
