Vantaggi

I've been here for a long time and have witnessed both ends of the cultural spectrum. When I first joined, I worked in teams where racist banter and bullying were often normalized, and in some cases, even encouraged by managers. There were many times when I felt I had reached my limit, but there were few, if any, effective channels available to raise concerns or report such behavior. Over the past few years, however, I've seen a significant positive transformation. The culture has improved considerably, with a much stronger emphasis on respect, inclusion, and collaboration. Today, I work alongside a wonderful group of colleagues in a genuinely supportive and positive environment. The benefits are also good and add to the overall employee experience.

Svantaggi

The compensation packages and pay review process could be more competitive and transparent. There is also a lack of clarity around promotion criteria and career progression opportunities. Historically, the company maintained a relatively flat organizational structure, which fostered a sense of equality and accessibility. However, since the COVID period, the hierarchy has become noticeably more layered. Senior titles appear to have become increasingly common, while career progression for many employees feels more challenging and less attainable. Every Tom, Deck and Harry is a Director now. Recognition for strong performance is another area that could be improved. Good work is often viewed as an expectation rather than something that is acknowledged or rewarded, which can impact motivation and engagement. Employee turnover also appears to be at a particularly high level at present, raising concerns about retention and overall employee satisfaction.

Over the past couple of decades, we’ve worked hard to completely transform our workplace, so it’s good to hear that the shift has resulted in a much more respectful, supportive, and inclusive environment for you. We are genuinely passionate about celebrating our diverse culture, and to keep it a safe space for everyone, we have a strict zero-tolerance policy against bullying, discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment. Hearing that you are now working alongside such a supportive and positive group of colleagues shows us we’re on the right track. We're also really pleased to hear that you value our benefits and that they add to your overall employee experience. We appreciate your constructive feedback on areas where we can still improve. To help us tackle these topics, we’ve just conducted an employee survey and are planning to discuss this feedback in upcoming Community Conversations, which we hope you will feed into.

Whatever was good about Autotrader is long gone by now

Svantaggi

This place is a masterclass in corporate hypocrisy. Leadership constantly congratulates itself on being “inclusive” and “people-first,” but anyone who actually works here knows that’s just branding. Feedback is supposedly encouraged, yet when employees raise real concerns, management either ignores it completely or shuts it down if it doesn’t fit their narrative. They just doesn’t listen, or don't want to. Decisions are made behind closed doors and then pushed down with the expectation that everyone should just smile and accept them. When employees try to question things or suggest improvements, they’re labeled as “not aligned with the culture.” In other words: agree with leadership and keep quiet or go home. What’s most frustrating is the huge gap between the company’s public image and the internal reality. They love talking about diversity, inclusion, and open dialogue in external messaging, but internally many employees feel unheard and sidelined. It’s hard to take those values seriously when management repeatedly proves they don’t practice them. And if you post on Glassdoor? Don't you dare! Morale is low because people feel like their voices don’t matter. The leadership team seems far more interested in protecting their image than actually fixing the issues employees keep raising.
