Vantaggi

I learned a lot on the job and am grateful for the experience I gained while working there. My team members were highly skilled individuals - we all worked well together and had a great time together. I honestly could not have asked for a better team. My direct managers were amazing. They took the time to listen and help with any problems, technical or otherwise, and did their best to make sure our team was happy. They have an assortment of snacks and drinks available in the break room and cozy coffee area.

Svantaggi

While I thoroughly respected my immediate managers, I cannot say the same for the rest of leadership. During my last year at the company, leadership and marketing were becoming more and more tone-deaf. The culture committee was not an accurate representation of employees. When the culture team was first created, each team was supposed to have a representative to ensure everyone's voice and opinion was heard, this was not the case. The culture committee ultimately became a 'clique' - kinda reminded me of student council from high school. This, ironically, is a good representation of the culture overall. If you're not with the 'in crowd' then good luck. Moving up proved to be difficult for no reason as there was no clear path forward or defined ladder for moving up. Over the course of a year, every time we asked for an outline of requirements needed for being promoted, we were always met with, "We are working with HR to get it defined." I constantly went "above and beyond" my job description/responsibilities and always put "customers first" and, while I got lots of verbal praise and internal recognition, that was not enough to be promoted or moved up.... despite having multiple coworkers vouch their support. I had to work 2-3x as hard as others to get my voice heard. There were countless times I pointed out issues and detrimental pitfalls in processes, but was never taken seriously by people outside of my team. At one point, it took my director intervening and speaking on my behalf for higher ups to be made aware of issues I had been talking about for months. There were many 12+ hour work days. There were several coworkers who worked on their holidays, vacations, and even the night before their weddings. There are hardly any women in STEM positions and huge pay gaps between male and female employees. Very little BIPOC diversity. While I loved my time there, there were and I'm sure still are a lot of core issues that need to be addressed and are severely hurting the company. People are burnt out, the products are becoming stale, and the leadership is not doing anything to help. Just look at how many layoffs they've had in the last year. Providing occasional lunches and snacks and requiring a 4-day RTO is not going to help.

Vantaggi

- Worked with a lot of smart, helpful, and friendly people. - Interesting technical problems to work on.

Svantaggi

- Rounds after rounds of layoffs killed morale and led to huge knowledge gaps. - Upper management is cliquey and mean-spirited. They will call out and humiliate employees on the regular in public settings. - The work culture is terrible. Micromanagement about being in office 5 days a week at the exact hours laid out by management. Expectations of working through holidays, PTO, and weekends. - Unscrupulous and opaque treatment of employee benefits.
