Vantaggi

Avid is a medium sized company that has maintained the spirit and energy of a start-up while beginning to institute stability, process, and standards of a larger company - it's the best of both worlds. The leaders at Avid continuously remind us why we are working hard - to help patients and families who suffer from the consequences of Alzheimer's Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. This constant reminder of why we are doing what we do is inspirational and makes one feel as if you are making a difference in the world. Avid loves and rewards passion and drive. If you are very self-directed and able to jump in to new situations, you will find Avid to be a terrifically exciting and rewarding place to work! Anyone will bend over backwards to help you, but you have to be willing to speak up and ask for help.

Svantaggi

Avid managers are "working managers", meaning they carry a full scientific or operational load with management duties layered on top. If you need a lot of hands on management, you may struggle at Avid because we are so lean and managers simply do not have capacity to spend time in some of the traditional management/coaching duties. If you are very self-directed and able to think independently, you will fit in well. You won't get a thorough "onboarding" or training to do your job - you will be expected to jump in and perform right away. That is exciting to some; intimidating to others.
