Vantaggi

- Their pay is decent, but still not competitive with other jobs in the market. - The gym inside the facilities is adequate, and the break rooms have a large fridge and coffee machine. - Parking is free and UTC is just a short walk across a bridge away. - Experience will look good on a resume. - Manager was flexible with showing up late/early to work. - Business Casual dress code is somewhat relaxed. - Allowed to listen to music while working alone.

Svantaggi

- Axos is firm about wanting people in the office even with a pandemic ongoing. There was even a positive case on my floor, and while there were multiple of us in a meeting room with them for over an hour, we were told to come into work still the next day as "they wore a mask so you're fine". - Axos also utilizes ActivTrac to monitor employee efficiency, noting when your mouse has been inactive for over 2 minutes. - Cubicles in the center of the building have no real sunlight. - Supposedly, the turnover here is somewhere near 40%, and it seems that everyone I meet here had just started a few months to a year or two ago. - As a JBA, your workload can fluctuate a lot as sometimes you have the workload of a regular analyst and other times you have to fight for busy work. - There's not many days off during the year, with only federal bank holidays counting. In 2021, we weren't even given a Christmas or new years observed even though those days fell on a weekend. - Severe lack of training at the start. Manager introduced themselves and essentially had another analyst delegate busy work to me for the next month. - Low opportunities for promotions/raises; if you earn a promotion you basically take on the extra responsibilities but don't get paid the new rate until 6 months later. - The term Junior Banking Analyst seems to just be a way for them to justify paying us less than the regular Analysts and to mask it as a learning experience. - The rotational program is tough as it usually takes a month to get familiar and comfortable with your job, and by then you could only have 2-3 more months before you rotate to your next department.

The JBA program is meant to provide accelerated opportunities for exposure and learning which is one of the highlights of the program. Analysts have the opportunity to do real meaningful work and are given more responsibility than is typical for entry-level roles. The program is designed for those who want the opportunity to dive in and learn through hands-on work and are exited to tackle new challenges. Most analysts complete 3-4 rotations within the scope of the program. The most successful analysts are those that take the initiative to engage themselves in additional projects to help drive automation and efficiencies and can thrive in our fast past environment.

Vantaggi

Only pro here is that certain roles will let you operate above your title, e.g. exposure to sides of the job reserved for senior roles at other firms. 15 days PTO to start is actually not terrible either. Great coworkers depending on your team.

Svantaggi

Too many to list here, but will try. Main issue here is the top-down culture of fear and internal politics, as the entire bank is at the whim of one person. Managers are exclusively concerned with looking good in front of the CEO, and even top SVPs are terrified to be honest with him. SVPs routinely complain about not being able to get comp raises for employees, while simultaneously being terrified to ask. Do not expect your manager to go to bat for you if it in any way involves being assertive. If you want to work for a borderline alt-right CEO who belittles employees openly, this is your spot. The only people that thrive here are those who have never worked elsewhere and do not know what a real company looks like. Looking forward to the HR denial response here too. Some other cons: - Zero WFH allowed - Below market compensation across all roles - Stock bonus vesting schedule that take 4 years to fully vest

Axos is a performance-driven environment with a clear expectation of accountability, transparency, and results at every level. Leaders are expected to advocate for those who are performing on their teams, have direct conversations, and drive outcomes. Many employees thrive in this environment because it provides meaningful responsibility, exposure to leadership, and the opportunity to contribute beyond a narrowly defined role. Compensation and rewards are managed through structured processes aligned to market data, business performance, and individual contribution. Equity programs are designed to promote long-term alignment and retention, which is standard practice across the industry. Our onsite model is intentional and supports collaboration, speed of decision-making, and execution, key differentiators for our business. While that model may not be the right fit for everyone, it is clearly communicated and consistently applied. We continue to focus on attracting and retaining high-performing talent who are motivated by impact, ownership, and the opportunity to build in a fast-paced environment.
