Management will increase your responsibility, expectations, and workload, and laugh at you if you ask about a raise. I trained 5 employees from scratch and was the lead tech for a new doctor, and after a year of employment my hourly rate didn’t change. I even asked if they’d compromise a smaller raise to keep me employed. They scrutinize time off, and watch your time clock like a hawk. HR is NOT on your side, HR and management exists to record reasons to not give you more money, or benefits. I was even told I was a “no call no show” while I was in the hospital because I didn’t wake up an hour before my shift every morning and call them from the hospital bed.

Other technicians can be cool and doctors are great to work with

Management will never communicate properly, play favorites, and make empty promises. Nobody has received a raise in over a year. Only people who make good money are new hires.
