Developments are led by chemists which frequently benchmark new product developments against BASF products, rather than the market leaders. If you are selected as a "high potential", you can walk on water, regardless of the poor quality of your work or lack of respect for and by your coworkers. European organization often pushes for launch of products in other markets that don't fit the market needs all in the name of "globalization". Very evident "diversification: efforts for new hires, leading to unqualified people being hired because of their gender or ethnicity.
