Managers don't value employees - Recensione dipendente - Food Runner presso BJ's Restaurants

This business has done away with the food running position. They say it's for the sake of having servers interact with guests more frequently....however, we all know that it's really because they want to save money. As a result, servers are 2-3× as stressed as they used to be, tips aren't as efficient, and service quality has diminished. Second, the management turnover has been high -- at least throughout the years that I've worked there. That should say quite a bit about what corporate may think. Thirdly, the current employers WILL fire you over the smallest things, especially if a complaint from a guest is something blown out of proportion. I was let go this past friday because of something that ACCIDENTLY slipped out of my mouth when calling out the name of a pizookie to a guest. It wasn't directed towards them in the slightest bit...not to mention I caught myself before I could finish saying it (it wasn't anything off-color), but I guess they took it as a racial slur against them and they complained to our GM about it. After making me fill out a statement to explain my side of the story, suspending me for a week, and "investigating" the matter, they decided to give me the boot. Mind you, I've worked at this restaurant for SIX YEARS with a GREAT record! I'm hard-working, trustworthy, honest and punctual. But they decide to chuck me over the pettiest thing. This honestly shows the ultra-sensitivity of this WOKE society and how everybody seems to be walking on eggshells. If anything, I was the one who was discriminated against...because of my faith, values....and MENTAL HEALTH struggles!! Completely unfair treatment.
