I absolutely loved my experience at BTS. I also am writing this review after leaving the company, but I think they did a lot right: - Strong focus on development & promotion - everyone WANTS you to get promoted and is in your corner to give you whatever opportunities you want/need to get there - Flat organization - you can comfortably talk to anyone and ask anyone a question - Practice what they preach - it's a management consulting firm, and a lot of the content that they teach to other companies around feedback, teamwork, etc. I found that they practice internally. I found it to be a very comfortable feedback culture. - Authenticity - I was encouraged to be myself, and really found my peers be able to lean into their natural personalities as superpowers - Fun - BTS team members are fun, they sell fun, they are fun, and some of the best people that I've met (both in heart and minds) have been from BTS - Networking - Even after leaving BTS, I keep up with a lot of people from the company. - Diversity - I personally found BTS to have a lot of diverse hires. You also get the chance to work remotely with a lot of people from different offices and even countries. - Benefits - BTS has INCREDIBLE benefits across PTO, medical/dental/insurance, etc. still to this day the best medical I've had - Culture - BTS is a HIGH CULTURE environment. There's a big focus on this, and you feel it in every interaction. - Attitude - theres very much a "we're in this together" mindset. I find that people are always willing to help & answer questions. - Say in your pathway - This one might be a bit of a mix depending on who you talk to, but I found that if you tell your manager "hey I'm interested in innovation" they'll do their absolute best to get you on innovation projects, same with leadership development, other project types, etc. - CEO - big fan of Jessica Skon, incredibly kind and inspiring

I'll call out that BTS is a Consulting firm & consulting is a very unique field in terms of demand/how much of your time is utilized. I think there's always areas for improvement in this field, but generally speaking if you're interested in being a consultant, you should know to expect longer hours and travel. Here's my cons: - The whole company is generally underpaid. It could be considered a bit of a trade off for some of the other benefits you get, but it's a strong consideration - I've heard rumblings of a "boys club" kind of attitude, and I imagine that might happen a lot more at the top of the company (Senior Director/VP+). Among consultants, I didn't find this to be the case - Employees are unevenly stretched thin/Playing favorites - "Favorites" can get more opportunities, and generally I've seen the case where some consultants are overworked and others are massively underworked at the same time - Rolemodels obviously overworked - When you look to your more senior colleagues, which you may have the mindset of "I'm gonna be them/have their work lifestyle one day"... you look at it and immeidately want to say "I absolutely don't want that." Lots of Senior Leaders who have periods where they work consistent 12-20 (yes... 20) hour days or who aren't home week after week and have families. As a junior employee, it's not inspiring. - Actively making choices to overwork and inconvenience employees - For example, I was on a project where my leader confidently suggested that one of our facilitators lead a workshop that starts at 2am for European participants. If we would have had someone in BTS Europe facilitate it, we would have lost maybe $250-$500 in revenue split. That's not needed for anyone. I've also heard of single parents being called to take last-minute travel for work with only a couple of days notice, which I could imagine is incredibly inconvenient.

Svantaggi

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
