Vantaggi

Pay is ok. Unsupervised work-day. Company truck & tools.

Svantaggi

Where to start? The hours can just be ridiculous & you can't go home until everything installed works perfectly... not that that is a bad thing since you're employed to make them work right, but sometimes it seems like the majority of the equipment you're installing doesn't work right. Work every Sat & Sun and only have one weekday off. Pay is just "ok". Doesn't matter how much experience you have as a technician, the pay is still just "ok". ... and in my opinion, just not worth the time & effort you put into the job and away from your family.

Vantaggi

The supervisors have your back when it comes scheduling issues during jobs throughout the day and if there's an problem with a customer. Pay and benefits are competitive.

Svantaggi

Nothing that I can think of.

Vantaggi

None. I've noticed some reviews have included being given a work truck and gas card as pros but since you can't use your work truck off hours and the gas card for your own vehicle, i just view them as tools.

Svantaggi

The three months I spent at Baker felt more like three years. In that short span of time two people quit and two were fired, so turnover is high and understandably so. Management is dishonest, incompetent and self serving. Expect to work between 60-75 hrs a week, so forget any kind of social life. Training is inadequate and the jobs you are given Time Warner in house doesn't want because there in low income and public housing areas. Pay is hourly with a chance to bonus if you complete a certain number of weekly units and meet Bakers BS metrics. In other words, don't expect to bonus out for your first few months or even longer. You will be charged for any lost or stolen equipment so be careful. One misplaced cable box can cost $500 or more and Baker will take every penny out of your paycheck, even though all equipment is insured. As for equipment, the boxes are never programmed at the shop so a lot of time is wasted on job sites waiting for modems and cable boxes to download software, making your day longer. There are no paid holidays and benefits are mediocre. Take this job if you are in desperate of a paycheck but get out once you find a better job, which should be easy, like I did.
