My review is from an engineers point of view. If you work in a differnet departament then some of these issues won't apply to you. - The salaries for engineers haven't been adjusted for over a decade. For example, the starting salary for an Engineer I is on the low $30k. The same goes for Engineer II and III and higher. - There is no support for you to advance. They offer their worthless HR training classes, but when it comes to supporting you on taking classes for PE exam there is no support. Most places will help you with some kind of assistance for you to go take the PE exam. Not this place. 0 Support. - The technology is way behind the private sector. It took 6 months when I first came here to get a PC that would run AutoCad. - Overall benefits are not what they used to be. They are not bad, but nothing above average for new hires. They changed the benefits for anyone who comes after 2007 while the old guys who have been here before that have awesome benefits. Once you come in you will realize you pay 3 time higher than insurance rates and pension contributions. -And forget about moving up, you are ranked by years of service not ability. This may be a good place to work for some other fields, but not for Engineers.
