Vantaggi
In my opinion - Barcats was a great place to be belittled and bullied, there were lots of growth opportunities for those who disregard what is morally right. Working with the team here has helped forge lifelong friendships tied by shared workplace trauma.
Svantaggi
Don’t let the shine of “start up” fool you - the business has been running for over 5 years with most staff not making it past 1.5. There are a handful of the protected few that have made it past this time period but don’t think that benefit is privy to all. Failure to adapt and actually grow, holding onto a delusion that doing the same thing over and over will make a difference. Has incredibly high turnover thinking that the problem is every single staff member that has passed through the business. Staff turnover exists but this place might as well be a butter factory at the rate they're churning staff in and out. If staff (godforbid) try to improve the business, stand up for their team or push back they'll either be forced to resign or made redundant. Don't bother trying to do your job well because they'll always find a reason to say you're trash. The company is left in true desperation and showers its team with alcohol, minimal rewards and values that they can't uphold in the hopes that it's enough to turn a blind eye to the conditions of their psychosocial hazardous environment. The requirement for the sales team to sell "the dream" with no incentives, impossible targets and bare minimum compensation, expected to go door to door to venues like mormons selling salvation There is only one authoritative leader despite your title or whatever false praise they feed you and as the voice of the business, his narrative is what everyone must believe. Staff are brought in with the promise of making hospitality better, the promise of being part of something significant only to realise the business never cared about hospitality, they cared about loopholes and taking advantage of an industry backed against the wall.
