Other than the first 18 months (which was caused by understaffing), very rarely had to work late, so had a good work/life balance. Good pay and benefits package Supportive regional Finance team.

Complete lack of appreciation for finance, input is not viewed as important. Did not feel valued or listened to. Over the years I worked there things got progressively more rigid. Flexible working is not very flexible - must do 3 days in the office per week minimum, and the team have since been told this will be on fixed days per week. Also they do not let you take less than 1 hour lunch break, so you cannot take a short lunch to do a shorter day. Also cannot use your lunch break to do the school run as they deem it too long a period to work 6 hours without a break. Lots of things that made it very difficult as a parent and ultimately led to my resignation (along with lack of progression). They also were extremely reluctant to agree to any formal flexible working requests (i.e. changing hours), and you really had to push to get anything agreed. Also did not keep to statutory timetable. Little to no opportunity for progression as the finance team is so small (4 people)
