Vantaggi

The company gives you a discount at Bath & Body Works, as well as at Victoria's Secret. They also try to give out gratis to all associates whenever a new product launches, as well as every season as a "Thank You." They also do MOS (Mark Out-of Stock, which means they discontinue certain products) twice a year, with the discontinued products going on sale to the associates at amazing prices - usually $1.00 an item. If you keep your eyes peeled, you can get some amazing deals on BBW product when you work here. Most of BBW's customers are friendly and excited about the product, which makes it easy to sell. The shifts tend to be short when you're an associate, which makes the time fly by. This also means that this job is generally easy to fit into your schedule if you have a lot of other commitments, or if you have a full-time job elsewhere. The hours are probably best suited for students or those who are just looking for a little extra income.

Svantaggi

Because it is so easy to find great deals when you work here, if you're not careful you can spend a lot of money here (especially because management tends to pressure the associates to purchase pretty heavily and consistently if they need extra sales to make their goals). The company tries to focus on creating a very specific environment for their customers, which partly entails talking to the customers repeatedly and demoing products to them - to the point where you feel as though you are badgering the customer. Needless to say, this tends to frustrate many customers, who can become rude and standoffish. The pay is low to average, and there are very few full-time positions available; it is very hard to move up in this company. Benefits are not available until you are full-time (co-manager or higher). There are generally more call-in shifts scheduled than set shifts, which means you often will not know if you work that day until an hour before your shift. If the store you work at is not making its sales goal, it will often cut your shift with little to no notice. Conversely, if for some reason they need additional associates to work, they will call you and expect you to come in with hours notice - if you are unable to, they tend to hold it against you (in performance reviews, or more directly by cutting your hours in the future). The shifts also tend to only be 3-hours apiece, and on average each associate can expect to work between 3 and 9 hours per week. Also, although you will work so few hours, they expect you to have nearly-open availability. Management always strives to reach higher, which means constant and repetitious coaching. No matter how good of an associate you are, how many years you've worked there, or how good your numbers are, management will always tell you that you can do better. It easily becomes a demoralizing environment.

Vantaggi

Good discounts on merchandise, easy work.

Svantaggi

I would have loved to purchase some of their products conisdering the 40% off discount for employees, but they failed to pay me enough to sustain myself let alone buy from their store! I was getting paid about $150 every two weeks! They never notified me about how little I'd be working or about what my schedule would be like, my shifts were completely random. If you want a set schedule each week. this job isn't for you, you're lucky to get 1 shift a week that only lasts about 3-4 hours. Once again, my supervisors failed to mention this, thinking it was more important that I know how to sell products than whether or not I get paid enough to survive. I don't know why there was so much emphasis on selling merchandise to customers anyway, these products practically sell themselves. I had a lot of questions starting out since I was a NEW EMPLOYEE and all and had never worked a job like this in my life, but for some reason my supervisors failed to see this and instead made me feel ashamed and embarassed for asking the simplest of questions. They'd actually get mad and a little sassy at me for asking a question, like where a specific item was or how to do a return. I have to remind you, I had just started and my shifts were so sporadic it was difficult to retain all the info, so I HAD to ask questions.
