There are also many useful online training classes that you can take, and some of them are very good. A lot of times, promotion and raise are not fairly representation of consultants' performances. There are very little opportunities to grow and learn, mostly due to lack of projects. Nowadays, if you hit the bench for 2 weeks, you might get laid off. Most of the Managing Directors only care about the margins, revenues, and sales but care less for your personal growth and development. They are happy if you are staffed on a project but care less if the project will make you learn and help you grow. There are also a lot of politics involved in big projects.
