Small, family feel. Very customer driven, full of smart people who go the extra mile. Positive culture. People work nicely together, and politics are largely absent. I've reported to four different managers and two VP's, and I've frankly been impressed with all of them, and a couple stand out as truly exceptional. People come and go like any company, but a lot of employees stay for the long haul, with 10+ years. Company is small, but I've been carried through several contract transitions. Good benefits; HSA medical plan is particularly awesome, with the company essentially paying the bulk of the deductible into an HSA. Telecommute was widespread before COVID.

Small size means that people on corporate often wear multiple hats. Usually an upside, but can be difficult at times during surge requirements. The company also tackles a more diverse collection of business lines than the average small company, which, while fascinating, can be challenging at first, since there is a lot of ground to cover in terms of relevant domain knowledge.

Small company, so you can learn several skillsets and grow your knowledge base out of need. People at the team level become very close.

Small company, so opportunities are slim. You have a problem in larger companies with bureaucracy, but smaller companies often get tied to the personal politics and biases that prevent further growth. BVTI is no exception. An individual attempted to make me feel guilty for being paid what would be a cale anywhere else. The same time, I had learned from several co-workers that this same individual enjoyed gossip and had said nasty, personal things about me and enjoyed bullying other coworkers. Our relationship changed when I made it clear that this couldn't done to me. This individual would behave as a child when challenged and often enjoyed passive-aggressive forms of manipulation. This proved successful with the "lifers" of the company as it was intimated to them that they wouldn't have achieved anywhere near the same levels of success elsewhere. This form of manipulation is enough to keep them under his proverbial thumb and "grateful" to be employed by BVTI.
