The "Betterfly Paradox" accompanies many betterflyers, as it is a very heavy and high pressure environment, especially because it is absurdly political, bureaucratic and toxic. The rush to impact 100 million people in 2025 (which is nothing more than a nice deal to attract investors) has created a toxic environment. The speech is to change the world, but those who are there know that they need to please the CEO and satisfy his ego. The environment is quite individualistic, full of internal competition. One of the values ​​of the culture is the "turn on the lights", but a lot happens in secret there. Dismissals happen and the company does not communicate the departures, at most it says that the person is away or on other projects, but when you look for the person you discover that he has left the company. This is super frequent and happened even with VPs and C-Levels. It's a company that does great institutional marketing, but the product is hollow and full of flaws, and the sales team doesn't sell, especially in Brazil. In fact they just fired more than 30 people in a layoff after being an unicorn. It's a wolf in unicorn's clothing. The truth is, Betterfly is an entirely different company than marketing communicates. And totally different than the values ​​preached. There is no transparency and the people team (HR) is silent, there is no single safe channel for conversations of this type. That's why talented people are leaving. A company that offers a product that claims to combat employee burnout has several employees with burnout. Ironic.
