Vantaggi
- the people - can be shiny as an intro corporate job - some work life balance - basic insurances (health, dental, eye, life) etc. - pto (not unlimited if hourly), paid "holidays", remote, 56 hours of sick time per year
Svantaggi
- the nepotism and favoritism seems rampant (in not just people, but with certain teams in other departments) - Extremely traumatic and bad for mental health. Low morale. The people who have been with BigCommerce for a long time are jaded and numb and unfulfilled, complacent. - lack of proper training and being able to have dedicated time to keep up to date on new things - lack of career growth and lack of communication and attention from direct management - new things that we have little to no notice of and having to deal with consequences - You may work each or most holidays due to "coverage" if holiday is during your normal work shift. Extra unlucky = also, permanent schedules with evening and partial/entire weekends - attendance policy is extremely strict for hourly employees - processes and policies are not fitting of a company post IPO as a lot of processes and policies have not been updated to modernize with not just the times but for the growing and changing situation of the company from startup to IPO and profitability. - doesn't seem like there's any initiative or plan with any short term foresight and everything is a reaction (which Emphasizes how out of touch leadership is and how there is a lack of communication between teams in decisions that impact others)
