Hours are flexible, people are nice, community feeling

Pay isn't even close to being competitive. Because of this, the proper people cannot be hired on to fix the problems. Communication also has a lot left to be desired. Also, directors and executives are too loyal. They do no let go people that need to be let go. The cost of benefits keep increasing, even though benefits are horrible.
