Everything else. HR related to owner so nothing confidential. I’ve seen a few others mention this and HR respond to it as we have a referral scheme which is true but the owner isn’t going to give himself a referral fee for hiring his family! Micro-management to the point of suffocation. Toxic environment, people crying everyday and I mean EVERYDAY! There’s always someone getting sacked so you feel so on edge, you don’t get any support when you’re struggling just put on a performance plan. If you have anything going on in your personal life they don’t care at all, just treat you like a nuisance and will want you gone ASAP. Only reason there are good reviews on here is because you get bribed to do them, owner says to people they can’t have their holiday approved until they write a good review. This place will make you mentally and physically ill, you can do better! They run you down to your breaking point then take everyone for free drinks to make them forget how they’ve been treated, then come Monday it’s back to them grinding you down. Don’t leave a job to come and work here it will be the biggest mistake you ever make. Incentives are rubbish always same people that get chosen from direct sales and never on CAT it’s always unfair. They make up things to recruit you then you realise it’s nothing like how it’s sold to you. Be prepared to hear “it’s not a thing” a million times a day!

Thank you for your review. HR have years of experience and a wealth of industry knowledge which is continuously updated. This means that HR are able to challenge decisions and have robust conversations with management in professional capacity whether management are family related or not. For those flock members that require additional support, there are focused 1:1 training sessions where constructive feedback is provided to help achieve targets, this is always provided in a supportive environment. Your manager is always on hand if you have a question, don’t understand anything or require additional support, they are there to help you reach your potential and become outstanding. If a performance improvement plan is required, then this means that additional training and support is provided and documented. This is so an open and honest conversation can happen to ensure that everything can be done to help you reach your goals. We do not make our staff cry; HR is always there to talk if you want to speak to someone different. If you have something going on in your personal life that is affecting your work, we have a number of people that you can turn to. We do care about our staff and take mental health very seriously, one of our employee benefits is the ability to offer online GP appointments as well telephone or face to face counselling. As well as mental health well being, our employee benefits also offer discounts on gyms encouraging you to keep physically fit. We have never bribed people to write good reviews or not let someone take their holiday because of not writing a review! We do have a referral scheme which means that you will get rewarded if we recruit someone you have recommended. If you are motivated to succeed and work hard, our uncapped commission means that you will be financially rewarded. Our CAT agents are rewarded with incentive prizes and the rules for these incentives are always clearly laid out before the incentive takes place with everyone given a fair and equal opportunity to win.

Booze, occasional praise, early finish on a Friday

The office runs off of a hierarchy of cliques. There are certain employees that the CEO will move heaven and earth for (the top two sales agents at the time), but the rest he will just watch on CCTV and call in for hour long meetings weekly where he will just scream at you and tell you how bad at your job you are. It's not uncommon to see staff crying, people will quit on a daily basis, managers will change procedures and protocols every hour without telling staff and then have a row with you over it saying that you 'should have known better' as though you were a mind reader. You form trauma bonds with your colleagues over free ham sandwiches and meeting them in the bathroom where you will go to cry - no one who values their mental health stays at Black Sheep for more than a few months. Any concerns or worries you have are entirely dismissed, team leaders and managers have little to no say in what they actually tell you due to the big brother experience of the cameras in the office. Completely understand needing/wanting to occasionally check in on your company but the constant watching of the cameras at BSU by the CEO give the office a big brother feel. Some staff are genuinely lovely, but most are out to stab you in the back at any opportunity with no consequence, in fact its rewarded due to the toxicity of this workplace. Once I left BSU it felt like a huge weight was taken off of my shoulders, I wouldn't even send my worst enemy to work here as it completely destroys anyone who walks through the door.
