The general goals of the company are somewhat unclear with the company appears to be struggling to perform work in three very different lines of business; software development, hosting and bpo. This is reflected in the shortcomings in revenue and inability of the company to support its infrastructure properly whilst trying to grow.
There is a perception of poor financial management in the companies core with rumor of bank/s becoming a stakeholder on the board. This is a cause for concern for employees.
Leadership has successively dangled carrots in front of employees offering bonuses only to continually fall short of revenue goals for the past few year. Despite past announcements that annual bonuses were not being awarded, some departments still received this. Whilst this is at the will of the companies owners, employees might appreciate the honesty of being told this, rather than feeling deceived.
Employees worst experiences here involve the hiring and rapid promotion of friends of the companies owners and directors, rather than hardworking individuals who have helped the company grow. This causes a lot of problems as these individuals have no prior management and directorship experience which leads to incompetency running rampant. These people are also favored in promotion and unless you are aligned with them your career here will suffer, some of the people who are aligned with them seem to have no accountability and also reflect the poor performance of their leaders.
Despite news of growth; the companies leaders had continually injected revenue into new development neglecting the core infrastructure that allowed them to grow, this has caused customers to become unhappy with service. If the company continues to grow in this way customers will actively leave.
Poor integrity also extends to customer and partner relationships; customer, partners and even auditors are sometimes provided with false information regarding software and data and this does nothing for the well being of employees witnessing this. This also extends to poor licensing and security practices.
Staff salaries are also highly misaligned and most staff members are actively aware of this with people being paid in excess of 30% or more for similar positions. Employee turnover seems to be increasing despite the company being advertised as one of Boston globes top places to work.
If I am to stay with the company and the company is to succeed there will have to be some big changes. Be cautious about coming here.
