The company suffers from poor management and leadership throughout. Planning is haphazard, and everything is rushed. Fire drills are a daily occurrence. Leadership changes direction arbitrarily, provides conflicting information, and ownership becomes unclear. Employees are discouraged from sharing their expertise. Workloads are consistently overwhelming, new projects pile up, and each project is deemed more important than the last. Errors and accidents are unacceptable, and employees are expected to perform flawlessly the first time and within unrealistic deadlines. There’s no professional development, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) are handed out indiscriminately (if you’re on one, you’re likely to be fired). Across the company, employees are belittled, scapegoated, and constantly blamed for leadership’s shortcomings and insecurities.
