For non-union, non-engineers, here's the deal: my salary is approx. 20% below market for Puget Sound. Promotions? All but eliminated. OT? Eliminated. You are expected to work over for free or you're not a team player. Flexing the time is not encouraged. Virtual work or alternate schedule? Not allowed. Get seriously ill & you will be shunned & punished upon your return. Education reimbursement eliminated unless you're an engineer. 401k match reduced & will continue to reduce on the current new plan. Health ins. for non-union: no employee contribution to $275 mo. for 2 people, increased deductibles & co-pays. Non-union: annual COLA's went from 5% down to 1-2%, which is now a net LOSS due to health ins. And one final example of the environment: one team achieved a 9-figure cost impact goal in less than half the allotted time. They were thanked with a pizza party. And that's it.
