Vantaggi

Boeing offers $15k per year towards a Master's Program, free health, dental, vision, life etc benefits. There are several opportunities throughout this large corporation one could move through. I believe this company to be great for a person who has a family and is no longer considering school or doesn't mind being obligated to the company for 2 years after taking advantage of such.

Svantaggi

This is a very much "pay your dues" kind of company. Most of the people who work there have been there for quite some time and have adopted the "this is how we do things" attitude. There is not much value placed in new/younger hire suggestions. Additionally, if you join as part of a rotation program you are forced to finish all rotations before you can post out, even if you would like and are qualified for another job. Additionally, what use to be the leading education benefits have been changed. There is now a list of schools you can attend, you have to stay at the company 2 years after the last class you take and there are a list of programs you can study.

Vantaggi

Easy going, nice benefits, free further education (masters/PhD). Great for an engineer starting out who needs to dip their feet in the pool of engineering for a few years and to get a great 401(k) match at the start of your career (compounding growth). Great for late stage career due to the benefits and solid enough pay in a low cost of living area

Svantaggi

pay-scale lagging, no emphasis on learning new things, no punishment for people who are bad at their job. After working for 4 years, I feel like I should have jumped ship after 2. I haven't been given meaningful work that really challenges me in a while. Now I feel pigeonholed into staying because I have enough years of experience that I really should be considered senior, but I haven't been given work that reflects what I senior engineer should be capable of. Now I'm trying to jump ship before it's really too late. If I stay here another 2 years I think I will be genuinely unemployable and will have to stay at this company forever.
