Vantaggi

10% 401K Matching No tuition limit on STEM majors Except for Master's degrees, employees are not required to pay back time to the company for having paid their tuition. That includes, graduate certificates. Good health, dental, and vision benefits - unless you are young and healthy, then it's a little pricey HSA account offered Networking opportunities are endless; i.e., conferences, groups/clubs, organizations and employee engagement events every month Salary is very competitive - especially for those employed in Missouri - as the cost of living is much cheaper than other Boeing sites

Svantaggi

Like many companies, Boeing has felt the impact of COVID-19, the Great Resignation, and supply chain interruptions. Therefore, the culture, the hiring process, and opportunity for career growth within the company has suffered. Due to new projects and factors outside of Boeing's control, Boeing has been experiencing a lot of turnover. Therefore, now Boeing requires it's employee's to remain within a role for at least 18 months before moving to a new role - unless they have an exception or manager approval. So, instead of: - Improving how they find quality candidates - Providing the accurate description of what the duties and responsibilities of the role are - Interviewing with the manager they would be reporting to - Offering in person interviews for the opportunity to meet potential teammates Employees are forced to stay in a role they may not have been able to accurately vet before accepting an offer for. In my experience, I've noticed that there is no audit on the auditors. Meaning, no one is sustaining standard practices such as performance reviews. Everyone usually receives the 'meets expectations' on paper, even if they performed exceedingly for the year in reality. There aren't tailored opportunities for education and/or career development, or a set strategy for helping employees improve their skills to align themselves with their appropriate level and know where they need to improve to move to the next level.

Vantaggi

Easy going, nice benefits, free further education (masters/PhD). Great for an engineer starting out who needs to dip their feet in the pool of engineering for a few years and to get a great 401(k) match at the start of your career (compounding growth). Great for late stage career due to the benefits and solid enough pay in a low cost of living area

Svantaggi

pay-scale lagging, no emphasis on learning new things, no punishment for people who are bad at their job. After working for 4 years, I feel like I should have jumped ship after 2. I haven't been given meaningful work that really challenges me in a while. Now I feel pigeonholed into staying because I have enough years of experience that I really should be considered senior, but I haven't been given work that reflects what I senior engineer should be capable of. Now I'm trying to jump ship before it's really too late. If I stay here another 2 years I think I will be genuinely unemployable and will have to stay at this company forever.
