Vantaggi
Booz definitely has a great work-life balance. The firm as a whole is generally interested in the professional development of its employees because we are a service-oriented business without any tangible products to sell. Training opportunities are plentiful and employees are encouraged to take training courses. Employee performance assessment is peer-based and leaders do a thorough job of interviewing your peers to determine your performance. To sum the assessment up, it's as quantitative as it gets because there are clear guidelines for levels of performance in various competencies (read: soft skills and functional skills), and it's these guidelines that determine whether or not you'll get promoted to the next level. Everyone is intelligent and information sharing is a part of the company culture. Booz is definitely a place to learn and grow professionally.
Svantaggi
Depending on which office you're aligned to, career mobility may be limited to a specific market segment. For example, all the work in the San Francisco office is primarily transportation and/or commercial work. So if you live in San Francisco, and you want to do move to another project in a different industry, you'll find it difficult unless your functional skills are needed on that specific project. Plainly said, tuition reimbursement sucks here, so if you're looking to get a grad degree paid for, don't look here.
