This place will never evolve or progress under the current leadership team and managers. It doesn’t seem like a very stable environment to have a career. Some directors at Brand Addition seem to think of Glassdoor reviews as irrelevant but, here’s just a few cons anyway: * Always try to cut costs which directly affect staff such as staff redundancies, stopping promotions and new hires but then however, easily find the money to fly in management over from Asia, US and Europe, to then hire out a whole floor to get together and stay in one of the most expensive hotels in Manchester. This includes rooms for management who only live 20 minutes away. * Most of the managers are not trained and have got to that position due to time served - not ability, or have some sort of relationship with a director. A lot of them have zero people managing skills. These are the “lifers” who know they will never get a managers role anywhere else, and for this reason, stay on for decades. Limiting scope for anyone else and not progressing the company as a whole. There are also some who refuse to fully retire. * They only think of their employees as numbers and don’t actually care about them. * They will only give you compassionate leave when a person has passed away, anything leading up to that or serious, they tell you to take a full days holiday. * Zero progression even for those in junior roles. * No pay rise and bonuses because of unattainable targets they set themselves, bearing in mind most accounts are doing well, employees that actually do the work get nothing. They are over worked and under paid despite the hard work they have put in. * Directors and managers are paid very healthfully and know the general employees in a lot of departments are paid poorly compared to industry level, when you bring it up, “Just keep pushing” is a phrase that is said regularly by upper management and board members, they especially say it every year, when we inevitably don’t meet the target that they set. * Lose great people because of consistent incompetences and unable to retain staff, the ones that have been there for a while are usually part of a clique in management, feel like they can’t move on or have been strung a long with false promises. * Seem to think a high turnover of staff is a good thing as this is was brought up several times in company meetings. * Seem to brag about the fact female employees get paid more than male employees when employees should all be paid fairly, this gets brought up every year. * They have said to multiple employees, “you have to accept that you’re paid that low to do higher paid jobs, because you should enjoy doing the job, rather than what you get paid.” Which is in itself ridiculous and easy to say when, they are in high wage brackets already. * They seem to think financial wellbeing webinars and telling parents where “kids can eat for free” are a way to help people but no, the problem is that their employees are paid well below industry average in quite a lot of cases. * Departments are getting smaller whilst work loads are getting larger. * No matter how well you do, they will just keep piling work on you, nothing is ever really good enough. * Frugal on most things that are needed but will waste money on things that aren’t. Head office refuse to hire a receptionist (or anyone in fact) even on a part time basis, they seem think everyone else can pick up that work, as well as do their actual role to already over worked staff. * Nothing is thought out and planned properly mostly is just a sporadic thought that comes into someone’s head one day and carried out. * The employees who do well and work hard get treated worse than ones that just slack off all day and no one has the courage to say anything to them. Some staff members seem to cling on to their job for as long as possible despite low performance. * Any survey or employee forum request that brings up any of these points do not get dealt with, same with glass door reviews, most of the good ones are mainly due to it being a known fact that they get employees to put good reviews on as the score is so low.
