Since CDG takeover, the company is a great representation of mainland China invasion into the world's economy. Majority of those in the Singapore office are from mainland or CDG with the pretense of being a fulltime BDC employee. Majority can't even speak english. On paper, its separated from mainland company but in reality its still control by them and its C suites are replaced by those from mainland. All contractors that were selected to build their data centres are from there, with little transparency on how the contractors were selected. A contractor that attended unprepared and failed miserably in a tender interview was awarded a project. Poor and lowest quality of work and site management which results in BDC local staff having to pick up the slack and complete the contractors work instead of managing them. Fingers pointed to BDC staff instead of the contractors failure to plan and execute a project with professionalism. Contractor is able to complain to BDC senior management for BDC staff obstructing their work just because the quality is not met.

Major Expansion Plans - Lots of work to do, including the work of others. Meals Provided - Lunch with supervisors, mainly on work progress and getting nasty feedback. Fast Paced - Burn weekends preparing proposals/reports that will not be used. Headcount - High percentage of Chinese workforce, high efficiency. Brainstorming - Long meetings with no agenda, no conclusion. Full Medical Coverage - Health, Dental and Mental. Work from Anywhere - Bus, Car, Train and Plane.

Employees not valued since plans are mostly short term, 1-2 years. Management direction change every 2-3 weeks. Management decision overwrites all professional evaluation done. No ownership but always looking for someone to be responsible. High turnover, new faces every 2-3 months. Majority of workforce are Chinese. Long probation and notice period duration. Need to work on weekends, weekday nights, follow China calendar. Pretend to be MNC but all communication and documents in Chinese.

Despite being a very Chinese company, there is no 996 and the leaders are generally understanding of the language barriers, genuine people and helpful people

As the industry is moving fast, strategies at top often changes quickly and requires fast movement below, adaptability is a must.
