Initially good boss and training was great. Multi-skilled but all comes with a massive training agreement that often is a lot bigger than if you paid for the training yourself. The team when I joined was great from the boss down. The site teams all dug in together to get the job done whatever the weather and location. People in the team felt backed up and valued. I was developed quickly and Lead Drilling as well as being a COSS inside 18 months but the pay rise was minimal. Team functions and company functions were fun and we enjoyed them as a team and all management joined in so there was no divide.

After the boss left the morale went down. Team No2 who was his wife went on maternity and then no-one cared about the dept. The two associates one bids on non rail and is ok the other just farts around and does nothing. No back up anywhere and department left to do all the rubbish jobs no-one else wanted to do. As I was leaving contracts were being changed back so they can take your overtime off you, no other engineering department does this even though the surveyors sit there with nothing to do. Shame as it as a great department to work for and I am still in contact with the other lads I worked with. Salaries need to be looked at as without working at least two weekends a month me and my wife couldn't make ends meet.

Bridgeway will sell you the dream in the interview. promise all sorts but never deliver on it. the training is okay, you're essentially held by ransom at the training fees though so be mindful before joining. the office environment is depressing. some people talk, your managers will sit in there own circle and ignore you until they need something from you, in which is communicated via email instead of walking 10 steps to communicate with you face to face. the nightshifts are long and tiresome and will wear you down to the bone, but that is part of the job. if you are not after a job where working weekends is the difference between getting minimum wage and a working wage then i would look elsewhere, you start on just about minimum wage and the only way to get a decent salary is to work weekends. Bridgeway will tell you that you are only required to work 2 out of the 4 weekends but you will find you are always on weekend shifts. if you're desperate for a job and your livelihood depends on getting money then go to bridgeway. if not then avoid the place.
