The organisation was neither customer service or sales driven, the rot started when the CTO left the company after a disagreement with the CEO. This led to the growth of a blame culture which hampered sales with overblown estimates from development managers. The business plan was to use the young newly qualified software engineers to deliver cost effective solutions under the supervision of seasoned developers, after the departure of the CTO this plan seemed to be discarded with the projects being undertaken more and more by seniors. Despite the comments of the CEO we were all paid late for October and this triggered an exodus of senior staff as it was obvious the company was in trouble. Management communication was dreadful, vague and weasel worded communications contributed to and fueled the departures unabated. It’s a real shame Bright future failed leaving all staff without their January salary, I find it hard to believe the CEO’s statement that she only found out the company was insolvent on the 27th Jan perhaps if the CEO had curtailed her Caribbean new years holiday earlier she may have noticed there was no money to pay her staff.
